About

No parent starts off knowing what to do…We weren’t sent home with a user’s manual from the hospital.

Without conscious effort, the parenting methods that we have inherited can create a constant battle with our children instead of fostering connection. I say “inherited” because most of us naturally parent the same way we were parented growing up, which we are now realize creates conflict, frustration and endless power struggles. Leaving us with broken, disconnected from our children and feeling powerless and defeated.

It’s Never Too Late to Turn Things Around

No matter what your relationship with your child(ren) looks like right now, or how done with parenting you are, there is hope. It can be difficult to see a different way forward but I promise you it is there. I can help you find it.

Hey There! I’m Kiante Wheatley

I am your key to help you balance the stress of working full time all while parenting your little ones. My desire for you is to break the cycle of aggressive parenting and move towards engaged parenting. To find the structure and organization you need to be successful both at work and at home.

I am a certified parent instructor, coach and child life coach.  I am married, with two lovely, strong willed, emotionally sensitive, (want to be) independent girls. They keep me on my toes all the time, and I love them dearly. They are in everything from dance recitals/competitions to swim classes and two separate girl scout troops, when you throw my job in the mix… it can be a lot.  As a kid I was diagnosed with ADHD, as a coping mechanism I became super organized and a critical thinker.  I love solving problems… however there was one problem I couldn’t solve… parenting!

I couldn’t figure out why I was always yelling (and sometime popping), forcing my kids to “do as I say”, auguring with them, and having a constant battle every time we had to leave or do something different.  It was frustrating and I didn’t like the relationship that I was building with them.  I knew there had to be a better way.  That’s when I started to dive into all of the parenting books I could find, but nothing worked… every time I got upset, I went right back to my old habits.  Until I found my parent coach.

The missing piece to the parenting puzzle was finally found, and now I have a newfound relationship with my kids, that is built on connection, unconditional love, boundaries, and mutual respect. Is everything perfect every day? Absolutely not. However, the stress and frustrations have gone down significantly. I love my journey so much, that studied to become a parent coach myself.  I believe that there is no such thing as a perfect parent, no one has it all together, all the time. The most important thing to understand why we parent the way that we do, and discovering what kind of parent you want to be. I’m here today to guide you on own life-changing journey, and to provide you with skills and tools to can use along the way.

I believe that children as well as parents need to be respected and have a voice. Kids need to have a sense of autonomy and individualization, this helps everyone to become a team and work together. Which is necessary when you have a chaotic schedule.

The traditional ‘POWER-OVER’ model of parenting isn’t working.

Do you constantly waste your precious time struggling with your children’s behavior, feeling frustrated  like you’re just not doing a good job as a parent? Do you worry that you’re failing your children and not preparing them adequately for life?

Life and society have changed a lot since we were children, but parenting is still lagging behind.  There are no mainstream “classes” that teaches us how to be the kind of parents we long to be. Most of us have less support and less time to parent than our parents did, and children’s lives are different with the introduction of screen time and social media. Without conscious parenting methods we often slip back into the parenting styles that we ourselves experienced as children, these often don’t feel good to us and don’t get the results we long for.

It’s time for a change…
